Breyer Sightings
This blog springs forth from the age-old model horse hobby pastime of noting "Breyer Sightings"; instances where Breyer model horses (and other beasties) are used as props or set decoration in films, television shows, and even print ads. It's harmless fun, and intriguing as to the many places these treasured collectibles find themselves! Enjoy!

Contact
I'll be doggoned, a Breyer Sighting! It's been so long! This is from the Jodie Foster film "Contact", cute little grey Appaloosa Action Stock Horse Foal on the bedside table there. Totally wrong for the time period (1970's) but oh well.
This Is Us
Little behind the times, just discovering this awesome TV Series! Made even more awesome by a Breyer Classic Johar on the coffee table in Episode 3!!

Columbo Pilot - Murder By The Book
The only thing that could improve on a pilot episode of a classic TV 1968 series directed by Steven Spielberg and featuring a pre-"Adam-12" Martin Milner would be....A Breyer!! The original glossy palomino "Western Pony" at that!
Though what a fabulously wealthy author with original valuable artwork on the walls and a second home near San Diego would be doing decorating his fabulous home with dime store plastic horsies, well...even Columbo couldn't figure that out.

Rural Heritage Includes Breyers
The rural lifestyle TV network, RFD-TV has a series called "Rural Heritage", with clunky video of exciting things like old guy in overalls rambling on about the different kinds of horse-drawn plow, or homesteaders and small farmers explaining their philosophy on dairy cows. But this episode covered the Waverly Horse Auction in Iowa. Besides plenty of beautiful draft horseflesh, they had interviews with the folks behind the scenes.
But even more interesting, behind the behind-the-scenes folks, is a beautiful team of flocked dapple grey Breyer Belgians pulling a wagon! I'm guessing it's a Dick Eighmey creation, considering it was in Iowa (where Mr. Eighmey lived and created).

More Hoarders
Just something about hoarding that makes you want to add Breyers to the mix!!! This is from an older episode of "Hoarders", one of my favorites with "Jill" the food hoarder (who doesn't keep rotten liquified pumpkins in one's front room?). I've seen it many times, but never noticed the Clydesdale Stallion and Mare on the shelf in the other family's house! There was a third HSO to the right but couldn't make out what it was for sure.
